Hot Potato

Hot Potato is the ultimate app for spreading smiles and making a difference. With Hot Potato, you can send virtual potatoes with personalized messages to friends and family or even anonymously. For just a dollar per Potato, users can brighten someone's day while supporting a charity of their choice. It's a fun and easy way to connect with loved ones and contribute to a good cause, all from your smartphone.

The problem

identifying the problem

When I started working on Hot Potato, I noticed a common problem: in today's digital world, it's easy to feel disconnected from giving back. People spend so much time on their phones, yet they often don't get much fulfillment in making a difference. This lack of connection to philanthropy can leave folks feeling disconnected from the world around them. That's where Hot Potato comes in. It's all about providing an easy, fun way to spread positivity and make a difference from your smartphone.

The solution

creating a solution

With Hot Potato, I aimed to provide a simple solution to people's disconnect from giving back. The idea is to make it easy and enjoyable for users to spread positivity and make a difference from their smartphones. By allowing users to send virtual potatoes with encouraging messages, we're giving them a fun way to connect with friends and family while supporting a cause they care about. Plus, by donating all proceeds to charity, we ensure that every Potato sent through the app contributes to improving the world.

My Approach

Developing a user-centric approach

To begin tackling the issue, I kept things simple and focused on what users need with Hot Potato. I started by checking out similar apps and understanding what's going on. Then, I ensured the app was easy to use by drawing out how people would move around it. I listened to feedback from users who tried it out to ensure it worked well for them. Once I had a clear idea, I polished up the final design, making sure it was fun and made a positive impact, one virtual Potato at a time.
